Professor Dr. Branislav Branko Lalovic (1928–1988), a noted nuclear physicist at the “Boris Kidrich” Institute in Vinca, began significant research on alternative energy sources in the 1970s. After very successful experiments, he became one of the most famous experts in the field of solar energy.
An ecological luminary and solarist of worldwide recognition, an admired professor at three universities in Serbia, a pioneer of solar architecture who put SFRY at the very top of world science, he first dazzled the local and international public with his ingenious works, and then, suddenly, left this world before his time, not wanting, until the last moment, to believe that he was – perhaps – murdered.
This is a film about the fate of a scientific mastermind within our surrounding, dilemmas about the use of solar and nuclear energy that are still relevant today. This is an authentic testimony about a man who opened previously unknown doors of science and technology, that our society neglected because it did not have the knowledge and courage to step through them.
